Product Details
Moling Guese Nelumbo nucifera  Gorgeous, bright yellow color! 'Autumn in Moling' is probably the most photographed lotus around the world today. One of the hottest lotus on the international scene, 'Autumn in Moling' has a very bright, true yellow flower that drapes dramatically. It is beautiful when viewed from the side, an extremely heavy bloomer and puts on a show all summer long. We highly recommend this one! Autumn in Moling is listed by the hybridizer, Master Ding Yuesheng, as a large lotus (see the picture below of Ganesh Anandhakrishnan admiring the earth-bottom pond full of Autumn in Moling); however, in our pots it usually stays closer to medium in height. Let the night-time temperatures average 50*F or higher before planting!  Flower Color: Brilliant Yellow Plant Height: Medium, 24’-47” Flower Type: Multi-petal, more than 50 petals Pot Size: 18” and wider, 10”-14” deep   How do I fertilize lotus? When do I start fertilizing lotus? Wait until the lotus plant has several floating leaves or begins to put up aerial leaves before adding fertilizer.  Choose a good fertilizer such as Waterlily World Tablets, Pondtabbs or Landon’s Aquatic Fertilizer and follow the instructions carefully. The amount of fertilizer to use is usually based on the size of the pot and the amount of soil in the pot. For example, most of the small tablets such as Waterlily World Tablets and Pondtabbs are added at a ratio of 1-2 tablets per gallon of soil in the pot.  Once the lotus has started to grow vigorously tablets can be added every 3-4 weeks.  Stop fertilizing in late summer to allow the lotus to use up all the fertilizer in the pot before going dormant. This encourages the lotus to form better tubers.
